Infigen Energy Closes on Sale of U.S. Solar PV Projects
Client Infigen Energy, an Australian publicly listed owner, operator and developer of renewable energy projects, recently closed on the sale of two U.S. solar-power projects to Duke Energy Renewables Solar, a business unit of Duke Energy. Stoel Rives served as lead counsel to Infigen in the sale of membership interests and related assets of the shovel ready solar projects, each with a designed capacity of up to 20MW, to be built in Kern County, California.
The solar photovoltaic projects (Pumpjack and Wildwood I) have 20 year power-supply agreements with Southern California Edison Co., and are expected to generate enough electricity each year to supply 10,000 homes and to be ready for construction this year.
Julia Pettit and Brian Nese led the Stoel Rives deal team, with assistance from John Laney and Jonathan Stagg. In addition, Stoel Rives assisted Infigen on a variety of related project issues, including permitting, labor negotiations, power purchase agreements, tax planning, and a facilities agreement. Leading these efforts were Victor Kisch, Jennifer Martin, Kevin Pearson, Brian Nese and Jason Johns.
