Stoel Rives’ Agribusiness, Food, Beverage and Timber Industry Practice Launches ‘Stoel Rives | Deeply Rooted’ Podcast

Portland, Ore. — Stoel Rives LLP, an Am Law 200 law firm, announced today that the firm’s Agribusiness, Food, Beverage and Timber (AFBT) industry practice has launched the inaugural season of its “Stoel Rives | Deeply Rooted” podcast series. The monthly podcast features respected agribusiness, food, beverage and timber industry leaders discussing how they, and their companies, are embracing innovation and capitalizing on new opportunities to move their industries forward in an ever-changing world.

“We are excited to launch our podcast series which will expand our reach to the industries that we serve in a practical, informative and entertaining approach,” said Kirk Maag, Stoel Rives partner who co-leads Stoel Rives’ firm-wide AFBT industry group with partners Adam Dittman and Todd Friedman. “We will be speaking with some of the most dynamic leaders across the agribusiness, food, beverage and timber industries who have valuable insights on how their industries are evolving and rising to challenges to emerge even more nimble and robust today and for the future.”

The series can be found at the-stoel-rives-deeply-rooted-podcast and presents an in-depth discussion around issues of importance to the agribusiness, food, beverage and timber industries. Episode one launches June 22, with three more ready to go, and others already in production. Details include:

  • Episode 1 features Jeff Huckaby, President and CEO of client Grimmway Farms, the world’s largest carrot producer.
  • Episode 2 features Phil Ward, current CEO of Oregon FFA and past Director of the Oregon Department of Agriculture and past Director of the Oregon Water Resources Department.
  • Episode 3 features Elin Miller, founder and owner of Umpqua NutFarm and Umpqua vineyards. She previously served as EPA Regional Administrator for Region 10, is a current member of the Oregon Board of Agriculture and is the current Chair of the Oregon Wine Council.

Dittman noted that, “I learned so much from our first interview with Jeff Huckaby that I’d love to bring him back for more. His discussion around how he’s meeting the challenges of scaling organic food production to meet the increasing demand for organic products driven by large food retailers will be informative and helpful to colleagues in the industry.”
