Stoel Rives Donates Legal Services to Northwest Cider Association’s New NW Cider Club

Press Release

Seattle, Wash. Stoel Rives LLP is pleased to announce that it has partnered with the Northwest Cider Association as one of the founding members and the only law firm sponsor of the association’s NW Cider Club. As part of the collaboration, Stoel Rives has agreed to provide in-kind legal services up to a $20,000 value to help with any legal needs that may arise as the association gets the club off the ground.

“We are thrilled to support the Northwest Cider Association and its producer members in this way,” said Stoel Rives’ beverage alcohol attorney Claire Mitchell. “With businesses in our local communities struggling economically as a result of COVID-19, particularly those in the food and beverage sector, we are proud to donate our services to a creative venture that will undoubtedly open up new revenue opportunities for northwest cideries.”

The Northwest Cider Association is a nonprofit trade organization that represents nearly 100 cideries in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho and British Columbia. The organization’s objectives are to provide its members resources to increase the sales and quality of their cider and to cultivate the NW cider community. The NW Cider Club falls squarely within that mission. Club members will receive quarterly shipments of hard-to-find, handcrafted selections of cider made in the Pacific Northwest.

Stoel Rives has built a highly regarded beverage alcohol practice to provide legal services to producers, distributors and retailers participating in the domestic and global wine, beer and spirits marketplace. As business is conducted across this highly regulated industry, our attorneys help clients navigate laws that govern alcohol production, licensing, taxation, labeling, advertising and marketing. They also advise companies on brand protection, corporate governance matters, environmental compliance, and, when needed, dispute resolution.
