Stoel Rives LLP, a U.S. law firm, is pleased to announce that partner William Holmes has been honored with the Champion Award by Women of Wind Energy ("WoWE"). WoWE, an association dedicated to the professional development and advancement of women in the wind energy industry, presented the award at a luncheon held at the American Wind Energy Association's WINDPOWER 2012 conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The inaugural award was created to acknowledge individuals who significantly contribute to the advancement of women in the field of renewable energy, through mentoring and professional development.
"As we discussed candidates for this award, Bill's name was a recurring theme," said Kristen Graf, WoWE Executive Director. "Known as one of the region's top wind energy lawyers, Bill has tirelessly advocated for greater opportunities for women at his firm. He has pushed for more flexible workplace policies that are supportive of women, and has made the inclusion of women lawyers in his work teams a major priority. Described by his colleagues as a 'supporter,' 'resource' and 'key champion in my career,' Bill is a wonderful choice for this inaugural edition of our Champion Award."
