Overview

Adam Hattenburg represents owners, developers, landlords, and tenants in a variety of real estate transactions. His experience includes acquisitions, dispositions, development, leasing, and financing. Adam’s practice is focused on office, multifamily, retail, affordable housing, and self-storage.  

Before his legal career, Adam worked in upper-level operations management for commercial real estate developers/operators with properties located across the United States, which has equipped him with practical industry insights.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Adam was a law clerk to the Honorable Edwin G. Torres of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida and practiced law in California. While Adam has extensive experience living and working around the United States, he is originally from Washington state.

  • Represented Canadian developer in its $500 million dollar construction financing for a mixed-use office/multifamily tower in downtown Seattle.
  • Represented Seattle-based developer in its sales of student housing located in Texas and Florida respectively for $80 million and $50 million dollars.  
  • Represented large nonprofit hospital system in connection with the sale of a ground lease interest and a hotel in Washington and the related joint venture restructuring.
  • Represented Seattle-based developer in its $30 million dollar acquisition and development of a multifamily apartment complex in Arizona   
  • Represented developer in the development of an 868-acre multi-use site in California, including the disposition of large batches of single-family lots to various home builders.
  • Represented public company in its acquisition of several parcels of land and assets stretching from Lake Mead to Henderson, Nevada.
  • Represented Seattle-based developer in its acquisition of a shopping center in Bellevue, Washington.
  • Represented various developers in the development or renovation of several affordable housing projects located in Washington, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Montana that involved nonprofit partnerships, 4% LIHTC financing, tax-exempt bond financing, city development financing, and commercial bank financing.
  • Represented public-company tenant in negotiating various leases around the United States, including in Texas, Florida, Virginia, Illinois, North Carolina, and New York.
  • Represented landlord in retail and office leasing for portfolio of properties located in Seattle, Renton, Kirkland, Kent, Bellevue and around Washington state.
  • Represented Self-Storage REIT in its planned entry into the Alaska market, including creating a form self-storage rental agreement.
